How to Make an Apple Martini
Ingredients
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 medium Green Apple, peeled (peels reserved)
- 2 tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
- 4 ounces Vodka
Directions
- Put the sugar, a cup of water, and 3/4 of the apple peel into a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil.
- Continue to heat, stirring occasionally, for around 5 minutes until the sugar has dissolved.
- Pour the syrup into a medium bowl over an ice bath and stand, stirring from time to time, until cool.
- Strain through a fine sieve into another bowl and throw away any solids.
- Cut the apple into chunks and press it through an electric juicer into a small bowl.
- Drain through a fine sieve into another bowl and throw away any solids.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and pour in the vodka, 2 ounces of the syrup, and 1/3 cup of the apple juice.
- Shake well then divide between 2 martini glasses. Garnish with remaining apple strips if required.
